About the Role

We're looking for a Software Engineer to help deliver technology solutions that support the future of New Zealand's aviation sector. Working within our Digital team, you'll design, build, enhance and support software solutions that improve how the organisation operates and delivers regulatory services.

This is a hands-on role where you'll contribute across the full software development lifecycle, from solution design and development through to testing, deployment and ongoing support. You'll help ensure the systems we build are scalable, reliable and aligned to business needs.

You'll work closely with business analysts, software engineers, testers and stakeholders from across the organisation to translate business requirements into practical solutions that create lasting value.

Working across multiple projects and initiatives, you'll contribute to the development of digital services, workflow solutions and system integrations that support operational excellence and organisational performance.

As part of a collaborative and evolving technology environment, you'll have the opportunity to apply modern development practices, learn new technologies and help shape solutions that support critical regulatory outcomes.

Key Responsibilities

• Develop digital services, workflow solutions and business applications
• Design, build, test and maintain software and integration services
• Translate business requirements into effective technical solutions
• Configure and support software platforms and third-party applications
• Collaborate with technical teams to deliver successful system integrations
• Contribute to release planning, deployment and continuous improvement
• Execute manual and automated testing to ensure solution quality
• Identify, troubleshoot and resolve application issues
• Strengthen system resilience, continuity planning and operational support
• Apply engineering standards and best practices to deliver sustainable outcomes

The salary band for this role is $98,689 - $120,941. Starting salaries are based on knowledge, skills and experience the successful candidate brings to the role, as well as internal relativities.

What You'll Bring

You'll be a capable software engineer who enjoys solving problems, building quality solutions and working collaboratively with a wide range of stakeholders. You'll bring a continuous improvement mindset and be motivated by the opportunity to contribute to meaningful organisational transformation.

To succeed in this role you'll demonstrate:

• Experience developing software solutions in a commercial environment
• Strong capability with .NET Framework and .NET Core technologies
• Experience working with Azure DevOps and CI/CD deployment practices
• Good understanding of SQL Server and data-driven applications
• Ability to learn new technologies and adapt to changing business needs
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
• Experience working collaboratively with technical and business stakeholders
• A commitment to quality, testing and continuous improvement
• Sound judgement and the ability to make informed decisions
• A proactive, adaptable and team-focused approach to work
