About the Role


This exciting opportunity provides cover for a team member on secondment and offers the chance to make an impact at a senior level. We are seeking a highly capable and collaborative Senior Advisor to join our Resolutions team on a 12-month fixed-term basis.

In this role, you will provide senior advice on a variety of complaints, statutory and ministerial requests, and support responses to external oversight bodies including TAIC, Coroners, the Ombudsman, and the Privacy Commissioner. Working closely with stakeholders across the CAA, you will help strengthen robust, compliant systems and processes.


You will also identify high-risk or high-impact issues, provide timely and accurate advice, and contribute to analysis that drives systemic improvement.


The salary band starts at $115,536 to $141,751. Starting salaries will be based on the knowledge, skills, and experience the successful candidate brings to the role, as well as internal relativities.

 

Key Responsibilities

  • Triage, coordinate, and provide advice on complaints and requests, considering complexity and sensitivity.
  • Draft high-quality ministerial correspondence and other responses within agreed timeframes.
  • Maintain and improve Resolutions team systems and processes to ensure statutory compliance and operational efficiency.
  • Coordinate input from subject matter experts in response to findings, recommendations, and notifications from oversight bodies.
  • Provide guidance and advice on complaints and information request practices to managers and staff across the CAA.
  • Analyse complaints and requests to identify trends, risks, and opportunities for improvement.
  • Build strong, effective relationships with internal stakeholders to ensure solutions are practical and fit for purpose.
  • Manage sensitive and confidential matters with discretion, tact, and sound judgment.

  • Can confidently draft high-quality correspondence and provide considered advice under tight timeframes.
  • Are process-oriented, with the ability to improve systems and workflows to ensure efficiency and compliance.
  • Can work collaboratively across teams and stakeholders to achieve joined-up outcomes.
  • Demonstrates excellent judgment, discretion, and professionalism when handling sensitive matters.
