The Civil Aviation Authority is seeking an experienced Senior/Prinicpal Communications Advisor. This is a fixed term position for 12 months.


About the role
This role has been developed on a fixed term basis to support the Te Kākano programme. This is a programme of work that has been established as a result of the Ministerial Cultural Review on the organisation, and is responsible for leading and coordinating an organisation-wide programme of  meaningful culture change across the organisation.


Joining a small team, the successful candidate will lead and develop communications plans and strategies for the Te Kākano work programme and support the Programme Manager with the implementation of the programme plan. This role will also be responsible for preparing presentations and briefings for the Minister, the Board and senior management across the organisation.


This role is a sole Advisor position supporting all communications and engagement work across the organisation relating to the Te Kākano programme, however will work closely with the Engagement and Communications team to ensure a consistent approach to communication across the organisation.


What we’re looking for
We are seeking an experienced individual who has a breadth of experience working in a communications role supporting senior leadership, particularly in the area of organisational change.


Experience with the machinery of government is essential, as well as experience in working with senior leadership. You’ll have demonstrated experience for developing communication plans, strategies and briefings. Strong attention to detail and the ability to juggle multiple priorities is critical to your success in this position.


This programme of work is focused on workplace behaviour and culture change therefore a high degree of self-awareness, empathy and confidentiality is critical for this position.
