About the role

The Manager Engagement and Communications is a member of the Organisational Development and Support Leadership Team. This leadership role will require effective advice and support to the Chief Executive and Authority Leadership Team.
This role will require an experienced manager with a focus on supporting a highly experienced team of communications and engagement professionals. The Manager is accountable for the development, implementation and maintenance of a comprehensive suite of best-practice stakeholder and sector engagement, and communications initiatives.

 

Duties and responsibilities, you can expect to undertake include: 

  • Manage a team environment that fosters positive working relationships, performance excellence, innovation, continuous improvement and a customer focus.
  • Provide leadership and direction for the Authority’s internal and external communications and engagement and deliver a proactive and credible advisory and support service to the Authority Leadership Team, Authority groups and key programmes.
  • Development and delivery of a comprehensive and measurable communications and engagement strategy and approach across all aspects of the Authority’s operations and functions that enhances the organisation’s reputation and brand.
  • Lead the development and delivery of an ongoing programme of sector engagement, and education activities and programmes targeted at delivering improved aviation safety and security outcomes.

 

To succeed in this role, you will draw on the following knowledge, skills and experience:

  • Tertiary qualification in a relevant discipline; communications, public relations or similar.
  • Significant senior level experience in the development of stakeholder engagement and communications strategies, leadership of stakeholder relationships, and in the management of a high performing team.
  • Demonstrated experience with traditional and emerging communications and engagement channels. This includes the effective management of digital channels.
  • Proven ability to establish and maintain relationships with stakeholders (internal and external) in a way that builds commitment to the achievement of shared outcomes.
