About the role
As the Coordinator, Governance and Secretariat, you will play a key role in providing administrative and coordination support to the Governance and Secretariat team, Board, Executive Leadership Team (ELT), and internal governance committees.
Reporting to the Manager, Governance and Secretariat, you will be responsible for managing the logistics of governance meetings, preparing agendas and documentation, taking minutes, and maintaining accurate records.
Your role will also involve assisting with business planning, performance and risk reporting, and coordinating Memorandums of Understanding (MOUs). You’ll foster strong relationships across the organisation, contribute to process improvements, and support with analysis work. Success in this role will require critical thinking, attention to detail, and the ability to manage conflicting priorities.
This is a unique coordinator role in that it has reach across the organisation, with a range of internal stakeholders, and variety in day-to-day work.
The salary band for this role starts at $64,342 to a maximum of $88,956. Starting salaries are be based on knowledge, skills and experience the successful candidate brings to the role, as well as internal relativities.
What You’ll Bring
- Proven experience in administrative or support roles within large organisations, preferably in the public sector.
- Solid understanding of public sector operations and government procedures.
- Experience and/or knowledge of governance boards would be an advantage.
- Strong organisational skills with the ability to manage priorities, meet deadlines, and deliver quality outcomes under pressure.
- A proactive, service-oriented approach with excellent communication skills and the ability to build effective relationships across a wide range of stakeholders.
- Advanced skills in Microsoft Office applications; familiarity with Visio and Project is advantageous.
- A qualification in business administration, governance, records management, or equivalent practical experience is beneficial.
