These changes are part of a broader effort to better position our teams for the future by enabling us to be more collaborative, efficient and effective in everything we do.

About the role

As a Business Analyst, Digital at the Civil Aviation Authority (CAA), you will play a key role in shaping and supporting digital change initiatives across the organisation. You’ll work collaboratively with subject matter experts, business and system owners, and the wider Digital team to analyse business processes, identify challenges and opportunities, and support the delivery of effective, user-focused solutions.

This role is responsible for eliciting and defining business requirements, designing process improvements, and assessing the feasibility and value of proposed changes. You’ll use data models, process maps, and user experience insights to inform decision-making and ensure new solutions meet business needs. You will also lead or support the development of business cases, providing robust analysis of costs, benefits, potential risks, and impacts to guide investment in digital initiatives.

The starting salary for the Business Analyst, Digital within Corporate Services group is between $98,689 and maximum of $120,941.  Starting salaries are to be based on knowledge, skills and experience the successful candidate brings to the role, as well as internal relativities.

What You’ll Bring

Success in this role requires strong analytical thinking, excellent stakeholder engagement, and a commitment to delivering practical, efficient, and forward-looking digital solutions that support CAA’s mission.

To be considered you will need:

  • Strong analytical skills to assess business processes and identify continuous improvement opportunities.
  • The ability to be proficient in business analysis methods to define requirements and model processes.
  • Strong skills in building effective relationships and engaging with a wide range of stakeholders.
  • Experience developing business cases with cost-benefit, risk, and impact analysis.
  • The ability to translate business needs into clear, actionable digital requirements.
  • To be a confident facilitator with excellent communication and plain language writing skills.
