About the role

 

The Triage, Assessment and Coordination team is an integral part of the Regulatory Enablement and Response group, fostering strong partnerships with key operational units within the Authority. This team is tasked with collecting, processing, triaging, forwarding, and acting on information submitted to the Authority by both aviation participants and the New Zealand public.

 

In this role, you will be instrumental in facilitating the flow of information into the Authority and ensure it makes its way to the right business groups. Your aviation knowledge will enable you to work closely with Assessor-Investigators to triage information which in turn will support our risk-based decision making.

 

The salary band for the Aviation Data and Information Officer goes from $65,340 to $90,338 with the mid-range being $79,500. Starting salary will be based on knowledge, skills and experience the successful candidate brings to the role, and relativities both, within the immediate team and in the broader Authority for the same or similar roles.

 

What You’ll Bring

 

We are looking for a driven, intellectually curious individual to add value to the information and data we receive. You might be an aviator with strong experience in information collection, data entry and data management skills or interested in expanding your experience of aviation data and information stewardship into the regulatory space.

 

To be successful in this role, you will bring:

 

  • Experience in effectively overseeing the collection, collation, entry, management, integrity, and distribution of data and information
  • Proven experience in building and maintaining stakeholder relationships of all levels
  • A drive for excellence and accuracy
  • The ability to use critical thinking and intellectual curiosity
  • Knowledge of, or willingness to learn about, legislative requirements relating to information that come from the Civil Aviation Act, the Health and Safety at Work Act, the Privacy Act, and the Official Information Act
  • Knowledge of New Zealand’s aviation sector is required
