Operating at our seven major airports, part of the CAA’s role is to deliver premier aviation security, while enabling a high quality, responsive passenger experience. We pride ourselves in excellence and you will contribute to our continuous improvement mindset with a pro-active can-do attitude. 

The National Rostering Centre (NRC) produces rosters for our Aviation Security Officers spread across New Zealand. Annually this equates to about 280,000 individual shifts and up to 7 million duties through our rostering system. This work includes rostering for e-learning, training, coordinating leave applications, and any additional requirements such as meetings. 

The Scheduler role performs short-term planning for all seven airports that the Aviation Security Service operates from within New Zealand, and we are currently looking for two people to join our team on a permanent basis. The Centre operates 24 hour/ 7 day a week and this role processes all operational changes to the rostering system each day. You will mainly be based at our Aintree Avenue site, as well as occasional shifts able to be worked from home so your home environment needs to be suitable for you to work and to answer and action phone calls and emails. All computer equipment will be supplied for this.

The Scheduler role is responsible for a range of activities including: 

•    Using our rostering management system, Quintiq to assign duties to meet operational demand
•    Work within the workforce planning process
•    Act as an advisor to the operation and recommend solutions for efficiency and effectiveness

You will have experience at rostering, scheduling or planning and be comfortable and able to work in a 24 hour/ 7 day a week rostering environment. With excellent communication skills you will be able to build relationships with a wide range of people across the operation and provide sound advice to support them in their role. It is essential that you have a full NZ drivers licence for this role.
 

The National Rostering Centre is located at Aintree Avenue near Auckland Airport, with free parking available to staff.
