The opportunity 

As an Advisor you will play a critical role within our People Partnering Team who support our people leaders at our Wellington head office, and at seven airports in New Zealand. You will work across the CAA and predominantly in our Aviation Security (AvSec) operations portfolio based in our Auckland Airport office. You will have a primary focus in partnering closely with our people leaders by delivering high-quality HR advice, coaching, support, and people centric solutions.

 

A typical day may include:

  • Providing timely, practical, best practice advice and support to people leaders across a broad range of HR matters, including Employment Relations, leadership development, engagement and culture.
  • Partnering with leaders to help them navigate people maters with confidence.
  • Contributing as a valued project team member to a wide range of national initiatives focused on improving systems, practices and the overall people experience.
  • Living our organisational values through your interactions with your stakeholders.

What we’re looking for 

We’re looking for a talented and people focused individual who connects strongly with our values and our organisation’s purpose of enabling a safe and secure aviation system for New Zealand. The ideal candidate will be able to quickly build trusted relationships, brings a positive can-do attitude and have the capability and experience to get stuck in straight away.  Experience partnering with people leaders in a front-line operational working environment would be an advantage.


To be successful you will have:

  • Proven experience providing trusted HR advice to leaders across a broad range of people matters spanning across the employee lifecycle.
  • Demonstrated experience in advising leaders on Employment Relations matters, including supporting end to end processes with confidence, care and professionalism.
  • Sound knowledge of HR best practice across the full range of HR functions with the ability to apply this in a practical way within the business environment. 
  • A good understanding of New Zealand employment law and the ability to provide guidance and advice to people leaders in the organisation. 
  • Comprehensive customers service ethos and focus on delivering valuable solutions to internal customers. 
  • A problem solver who has the ability to consider various perspectives, utilising a combination of experience, expertise and strong relationships and proven credibility.
  • Given the location of this opportunity, a full drivers licence is preferable.  

 

The salary range for this role is $83,600 to $102,302. The starting salary will be dependent on your skills and experience and will take into account internal relativities within the team.
